Our Coaches
Laura Elleray - Head Coach
Swimming has been a big part of my life for over 20 years, I used to swim competitively back in my home city for the Lincoln Vulcans Swimming Club, and it was here where I began my journey into coaching. From the age of 10 I was volunteering as a pool helper for learn to swim sessions and I have never looked back. I have had the privilege of being the head coach of Buckingham Swans since April 2019 and I can say it is a truly unique and inclusive club. I don't know of many swimming clubs that offer the opportunity for members of all ages to participate in coached sessions without the pressure of having to commit to competing or attending lots of sessions. I am a believer in sport being accessible for all, and keeping people in swimming when school and work become more prominent is great for fitness but more importantly mental health. I am proud to be a part of this community focused club, it is a real asset to the local area and I see the benefits it has for members each time I am poolside.

Andy Stiles - Chair
I moved to the area in 1996 and have been involved with Buckingham Swans swimming club since the Swan Pool opened. I briefly remember the open air pool when it was open on Bridge St. My own interest in swimming developed from when I was very young. My struggle with asthma made it very difficult to enjoy other types of sport. As well as being Chair I also support our Head Coach poolside and have been known to still take part in competitions. We are all volunteers at this club and it is a real privilege to work with our committee and coaches to be able to provide access to competitive swimming for everyone in our community.
