17th April 2010 - Chiltern League Round 1

We had a fun time at the chiltern league round 1 gala on the evening of Saturday 17th April at Stantonbury. I especially like the atmosphere at these fixtures, its a relaxed environment and so fun for all but at the same time there's a real sense of excitement too.

I really hope everyone enjoyed it.

However there are a few people that I'd like to mention that had some 'work' to do and so didn't quite get to enjoy the gala quite like the rest of us.

NIkki London and Duncan Gamage were timekeepers for the night - a mandatory condition for entry into the league.

Neil Blunstone and Sue Gamage were busy poolside. keeping 25 excited kids in the right place at the right time to swim 50 events including relays is no small achievement. Neils coaching inputs are, of course, crucial too.

Without these volunteers we would not have been able to take part.

So, on behalf of TEAM BSSC, I'd like to say a very big 'thank you' to all concerned. We couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks, as well, to Matthew Eddy and Louise Brunt who stepped in the the last moment to swim in the place of a couple of swimmers who were unavailable at the last moment.

Finally thanks to all the swimmers who looked after my children on the night. Hannah and David were thrilled to be with the 'big ones' and can now point Ella out in the team photo's.
