13th June 2010 - TEAM BSSC has highest number of SE Regional Swimmers ever.
TEAM BSSC Swimmers Compete at South East Regional Championships
This high level of competition is the next step on from the 'counties' and is hard to qualify for. Over four weekends at end of May / mid of June our swimmers joined Maxwell SC to compete in the British Gas South East Regional Championships. Held at Portsmouth Mountbatten and Crawley K2 50m pools, the event saw the top swimmers from all over the SE of England in tough competition.
Youth swimmers (older) swam during May and Age Group swimmers (younger) swam at the end of May and mid of June.
In all TEAM BSSC had 5 swimmers in the water.

Emily Jones, Ruth Bridgman and Louise Brunt (above) were selected by Maxwell SC to take places in the relay teams.

It should be emphasised that this is a very high level of competition with the best competing against the best. In qualifying Louise was selected from the top 82 eleven yr old girls in the south east and came, overall 28th from that group. Matthew's agegroup was the top 43 eleven yr old boys in the south east.

All of the 'crew' above - led by Neil's coaching - this is the the most Regional Competitors TEAM BSSC has ever had. Katie Lee was unfortunately not able to swim although did qualify for the tough 13yr old girls agegroup.
