17th April 2010 - TEAM BSSC competed against Newport Pagnell, Letchworth, Kidlington and Thame Swimming Clubs in the first of three rounds of the annual Chiltern League competition.
For me Chiltern league is an enjoyable fixture. Its fast and furious, a kind of '5-a-side' version of a swimming gala, its relaxed and ideal for new swimmers and all at the same time it manages to be competitive and exciting. Its certainly unique on TEAM BSSC's annual calendar of events.
TEAM BSSC was placed 4th on the day with 166 points. The winning team, Letchworth Sharks got 194. Actually a good result for us and our highest Chiltern League score on record. Unfortunately seven of our relays were dq'd for illegal handovers. Without this loss of points we would have been 2nd for sure and possibly even have won. I can feel a team chat comming on about relay handovers before the next round! - but Good news, of course, is that we could do even better at the next meet !
